Cherry Grove Pier
3500 N. Ocean Blvd
North Myrtle Beach, SC
In a resort town, there are very few constants. Building go up and are torn down. Mother Nature sculpts the coast as the days, years and decades pass. For some reason it is comforting to spot a landmark; it gives a sense of stability.
Cherry Grove Pier is a landmark!! Back when this section of North Myrtle Beach was sandspurs and sea oats, for the most part, the Cherry Grove Pier jutted into the Atlantic alluring fishermen to test their skills. Built in 1950s, the pier has withstood hurricanes and erosion, although requiring some occasional TLC for upkeep.
Today, the pier has a two story observation deck for unbelievable views of the coastline. The fishing is good ( better in the fall), and the laid back attitude is refreshing.
